Geometric Portraits

Facial expressions are universal because different people around the world have different whys they express their feelings. A lot of people may have the same facial expression when they are sad, mad, hurt or stressed. People show different facial expressions for different things or thoughts. Say you was in Japan and you smiled when the f asked you a question, they might think you did something wrong or you are going to do something wrong.

First I took a photo. Then I made a new project in photoshop Width: 8.5 in. Height: 11 in. Res: 300 p/i. added the photo and made it symmetrical and added a lock so nothing goes wrong with it. Next I added a grid to start off polygons. Then you go to your tool bar and select the shape tool and change it to the line tool (make sure the color of the line can be seen). Add a line straight through your picture and hide the side your not going to use. Then you outline your self portrait or portrait. Then you do your polygons (make sure that you have details in the eye, nose, mouth, etc...) Once you've done that you outline your polygons with the polygonal lasso tool (in the tool bar) and highlight a polygon and go to Filter: Blur: Average and every time you highlight a new polygon use command f on Mac and f12 on windows to add the previous filter. Once you finished doing that you can the cut your background out by using the polygonal lasso tool and outline it. Then make a new copy of your layer and flip the copy. Make sure they fit together and there are no spaces left.

The custom way is way harder than the easy way because on the easy way the computer does it for you and the custom way you do it and there are tiny mistakes that you don't realize until later because your worried about finishing the photo. Doing the custom way takes a lot of time and patience because you are using the polygonal tool to make the polygons. My brother had a logo on his shirt and I used the polygonal tool and the eye dropper tool to cover the image with the color of the shirt. The easy way is a bit different because the computer just generates random polygon across the photo but when your doing the custom way you get to put your own polygons to make it look AWESOME.
